How to wear and walk in high heel shoes
Most often women buy high heels in a jest to copy other women who walk in them without even knowing to walk in them.
First of all, keep in mind that the best of shoes are those that make you comfortable walking giving you full support while walking. It is important to walk carefully while wearing high heels so that you don’t fall out and feel embarrassed.
Wearing a great pair of high heels can make a woman feel beautiful, elegant, sexy, powerful, and confident. But as young girls, we are not taught how to walk correctly in high heels –we are just expected to know how to! I know because I followed the tips below. Now, I can glide effortless on any surface, be it a catwalk, sidewalk, or marble floor.
Speaking from experience, I can tell you that nothing FEELS or LOOKS the same as a great pair of heels!
1. Start with a low 2-3 inch heel and work your way to high 4-5 inch heel after practicing walking around your house.
2. It is easiest to walk in heels a bit wider
3. It is easier to walk in high heels with ankle straps, t-straps and other straps.
4. Watch your steps. Be aware of your walking surface such as stairs, grassy or sandy areas, slippery or rainy surfaces must all be watched out for.
5. Take shorter steps than usual. Keep your legs together and walk slightly on tip toes.
6. Swing your arms as you walk in high heels and it will add with the balance, and add a graceful appearance.
7. Driving a car in heels is not a good idea.
8. You may find that it helps to walk in heels if you think of yourself walking on tip toes.
9. When turning while walking in high heels, you will find that it is easy to pivot your foot on the point of your heel.
10. If you cannot stand straight in your heel without bending your knee, then you need to switch to a lower one.
11. Dancing in heels takes practice, practice it at home.
12. Wear new shoes around the house a few times to break them in before wearing them outside
13. Don’t wear high heels every day. Give your feet some recovery time. If you insist on wearing them daily, at least.
