Do Guys Like Ladies with Make-up?
Make-up is a long-lived phenomenon– so can men be serious when they claim to not like it? What does our biology say?
Do guys really not like make-up? And further, what role does make-up play in sex and dating?
Throughout all of known human history, women have used makeup to adorn their faces, and no wonder—with everything that could go wrong then and still can now, from disease and famine to garden-variety acne, women have always felt the need to hide facial imperfections.
Yet when a behaviour is found throughout the world, evolutionary psychologists don’t stop at noting it—they attempt to explain it: Why have women, but not men, found it necessary to wear makeup in the first place? Why are imperfections that are openly shown on men’s faces covered up on women’s?
Because males, being able to procreate endlessly but needing a fertile partner with whom to do it, are under a largely unconscious directive to Go Forth & Find Youth & Beauty.
Women can’t make babies forever, but only for a limited number of years. Reliable signs of fertility— youth and beauty—are conveyed by many signals, and a great number of those are worn on our faces. Smooth skin, wide-open eyes, bright teeth, even and symmetrical features, full lips, rosy cheeks, rounded features—all these things go away with age and/or exposure to pathogens and conditions that thwart baby-making.
So, we women love it when a guy has resources and will lavish them on us…but we love it a lot less when the said Catch is only “pretending” to have the goods. If he’s got the great car and a zero bank balance, he’s done the equivalent of putting on the makeup—then having little biological appeal beneath.
In sum, we women have always worn makeup to play up the youth and beauty men demand, and to compete with our sisters for the best guys. And men have always tried to find women who are The Genuine Article—who look youthful and beautiful without obvious assistance.
Advice? If you are out to catch a man, wear Makeup—but do it discreetly. Play up your best features, rather than creating features you don’t genuinely have.
And then watch the Guys Who Don’t Like Makeup…as they line up.
Cheers.

15 beauty secrets you should know
We've been reading fashion magazines and testing beauty products for years. In this time, we've read 1000s of beauty tips, tried 1000s of products, but only a few are worth keeping around. So, here we share with you the 15 things we wish we knew before now
1. Skip the foundation If you have acne the first thing you want to do is slather on the thick foundation. Don't. Foundation is for women over 35. Not only will it cover up your natural beauty, but foundation on a teenager looks anything but natural. Instead, cover up blemishes with concealer, then follow with a powder or tinted moisturizer. Tinted moisturizers tend to be lighter than heavy foundations.
2. You pat concealer in, you never rub it in We know this from watching the Tyra Banks show. When applying concealer, put a bit on the pad of your middle finger and pat it in. Never rub. Got acne? Pat the concealer on top of it.
3. Play up your lips or your eyes, never both If you are wearing heavy eye makeup, go for nude lips with just a bit of gloss. Prefer the drama of dark lipstick? Keep face light (stay away from heavy blush) and wear only mascara on your eyes and a light eye shadow. Don't heavily line your eyes. Play up both and you'll look like a clown.
And never, ever line lips in a darker colour than your gloss or lipstick.
4. Less is more Ever notice how some of your friends look best with no makeup at all? No matter your age, too much makeup makes you look worse. If you wear foundation, powder, blush, liner, mascara, eye shadow, lip liner and gloss on an everyday basis, then you're overdoing it. Tone it down: All you really need is a great mascara, concealer for blemishes and gloss. Add a pop of blush in winter.
5. Natural hair is always hot If you have super dark hair, lighten your look by going a shade darker or getting lighter highlights. Blonde? Try highlights, especially framing the face. We see too many teens lightening their hair several shades and the look can be super-tacky, not super-fabulous. The trick is to let people assume you were born with sun-kissed hair, not that you gave yourself a bad dye job from a bottle.
6. Vaseline is your best friend Vaseline is a great, cheap eye makeup remover. It's also great for fixing chapped, scaly lips. Slather on a bunch of Vaseline, then use a toothbrush to massage lips. Wipe the excess off on a tissue. Your lips will be smooth and soft.
7. You can never go wrong with layers Long layers of hair extension are great for any hair type: Super curly, straight or wavy. It makes thin hair appear thicker, curly hair appear manageable and wavy hair appear just-got-back-from-the-beach sexy. Just make sure you don't get too many layers cut in. Too many short layers is dated.
8. Acne? Go to a dermatologist, Biggest mistake people with acne make? Not going to a dermatologist. Forget those $150 jeans you covet. Getting rid of those pimples will be the best investment you'll ever make. And the only guaranteed way to do it is with a dermatologist.
9. Spend money on key beauty products Not sure what to splurge on and what to save on? . See if you should splurge or save on cleansers, mascara, concealer and more.
10. Buying foundation or lipstick? Test it first There are some beauty products you simply must try out at a department store or beauty shop before you buy. These include: Foundation, lipstick, blush and powder.
11. Don't let nails go Not into manicures and pedicures? No worries. Just make sure to keep nails clean and the same length. If you do want to paint them, don't keep the polish on until half of it's chipped away. Also, there's nothing worse than too-long toenails. Keep nails clipped between pedicures! People tend to judge others by the care they put into their hands and feet.
12 Don't line the inside of your eyes It will make your eyes appear smaller. Instead, line just at the lash line. Also, an obvious line doesn't look natural. Smudge the line just a bit.
13. Shave legs at the end of the shower Cut down on nicks and cuts by making shaving the very last step in your shower or bathing ritual.
14. Know your best feature and play it up What feature do people comment on most? Play it up. If you're told you have Nuella Njigbo lips, make sure to wear gloss and play with bold lipstick colours. If it's your eye colour people love, find eye shadow colours that complement them and make sure to wear mascara. Also, know what colour shirts look best on you and go shopping.
15. Scrubs are great for dry skin If you have dry, itchy skin in winter, invest in a scrub and handmitts and scrub away in the bathtub. Make sure to slather on a thick moisturizer afterward. For dry, callous feet, buy a pumice stone or foot brush. They work better than any of the other wimpy options on the market.
Remember: Beauty is mostly internal Think about a girl you know who's overweight yet all the guys love her. Why? Because she's confident. If you aren't wearing makeup and your toes haven't been repainted in weeks, if you're happy and smiling you will still be 10 times prettier than the mopey cheerleader sitting next to you in class. Trust us (wink).

How to cloth yourself at 40 and above
When you are over 40yrs, you need to realise that a different set of clothes is going to suit you best.
Many women make the mistake of trying to look like their daughter and wear clothes which are too young for them. Sadly, this doesn’t make you look younger – it does quite the opposite, it ages you.
When it comes to clothes, over 40s do ‘glamour’ better than ‘girly’
I still find it amazing how many over-40 women make basic mistakes with clothes, and so do themselves no favours
3 common errors when it comes to fashion over 40:
Sizing
You’re 40, still have a good figure. You think you’ll squeeze into skin tight clothes to show off your body. Mistake!!
Every extra ounce will show and you will look like you are bursting at the seams. Even if there is not a single extra pound about your person, tight clothes on an over 40 is not a good look.
There is no need to over correct the problem either. Wearing everything slightly on the big side will just look frumpy.
Once over 40, it is important to wear clothes that fit properly or don't wear them at all.
selling from the rear
Perhaps you’re 40, slim, long flowing hair. You’re walking down the street, feeling good that you can still get away with wearing teenager clothes. Or can you?
A young man behind you likes what he sees from behind. But when he steals a glance at your face he gets a nasty shock! Yes, you’ve oversold from the rear.
Don’t get me wrong – you probably do have a beautiful face. But you’re 40, not 20. When you wear clothes that are designed for teenagers and early 20s , you are doing yourself a disservice.
Slogans
Imagine an older face sporting a baby pink and blue tee shirt with a childlike slogan. Do you think that looks sophisticated?
At 40 plus, go for glamour and elegance and stop playing the teenagers at their own game!
When you are in doubt about whether a garment you own works for you, picture somebody you admire wearing it, choose somebody who is a similar age and build to you. I bet that makes your mind up quite quickly for you. It works every time for me!
Clothes to be avoided
Here are some things you really shouldn't be wearing at 40 and above.
• Mini Skirts and mini dresses - a couple of inches above the knee is as short as you should ideally go.
• Anything that ties up at the back - not sophisticated!
• Tee shirts with slogans or pictures – think glamour!
• Low cut tops with higher cut hems - if you are going to wear a short skirt, then don't sport a plunging neckline at the same time. Glamorous women show no more than 30% skin at any one time.
• Budget clothing - better to have a few good items than 20 bad quality items.
• Cheap plastic 'fun' jewellery - there is plenty of affordable jewellery to choose from and it doesn't have to be real.
• In fact, any 'fun' garment at all - it's great that you've got a sense of humour but you don't have to wear it.
• Prom style dresses (tight bodice, full skirt) - these are for proms and I'm sorry but you are too old to go!
• Low slung jeans and trousers - we don't want to see your knickers and you shouldn't want us to see them either!
• Sports clothes, fleeces and training shoes - unless you are off to the gym.
• Coloured tights - this is just not an elegant look.
So, you've learnt that fashion over 40 means go for glamour not girly.

White teeth
You would not appreciate a tooth if you hadn’t lost. Why? Every tooth plays an important role in speaking, chewing and in maintaining proper alignment of other teeth. What more? A good set of teeth makes you gorgeous.
You need your teeth at every birthday too! So, how old are? Given all the chewing, crunching, biting, and gnashing the teeth do, they are surprisingly resilient but the everyday wear and tear and the natural aging process take a toll. Age and the teeth? Yes your teeth change as you grow older-could darken, gum could shift or you develop gum troubles. If in doubt, compare note with someone you are older than.
Tired of what your teeth look like? Wondering the dos and don’ts to keeping your teeth strong and sparkling for a lifetime?
Don’t: allow food stains:
Surprisingly, so many of the food take cause stains on your teeth. Food like red wine, soda and coffee make whiteness of teeth dull-your smile becomes not so bright.
Do: Brush your teeth after eating darker foods-it preserves your smile’s natural brightness,
Don’t: Employ your teeth as tool’
They are for eating! Some individuals use their teeth for any task-tearing open bags or opening cans and bottles. Each time you use your teeth as a tool, you risk damaging them. This damage could be in the chips or breakage. This kind of pressure on teeth could also disrupt the flow of nutrients to your teeth, which could cause your teeth to change colours.
Do: Change toothbrushes
Be sure to change your toothbrush frequently and floss daily. Any problems with gum (such as gums receding) can change the way your smile looks. Know that a good oral hygiene helps avoid inflammation that can cause age-related problems.
Don’t: Smoke
It’s awful! It stains your teeth, ages your skin prematurely and you look years older than your true age.
Do shun indulgences
If as an adult you don’t know this, then you have no business with a good set of teeth. The biggest threat to teeth is sugary and starchy food. How? These carbohydrates ferment, causing the bacteria in the mouth to produce acids. Those acids quickly eat away at the enamel of teeth. This creates tiny pits where tooth decay can form. You love sweetened carbonated beverages-cola? Carbonation increase acid levels in the mouth and acts as a particular threat to tooth enamel.
Do: Avoid frequent snacking, which cause acid levels in the mouth to remain high over an extended time. Got a craving for something sweet? Chew sugarless gum. Chewing increases saliva production, which helps cleanse the mouth and neutralize acidity. Brush your teeth at least twice a day for two minute and floss daily. Daily dental hygiene reduces bacteria levels in your mouth.
Do: see your dentist every six months for a regular check-up.
Don’t: Grind or clench your teeth. This is called bruxism, and is frequently caused by stress or anxiety. Over time, bruxism can wear down the biting surfaces of teeth, making them more susceptible to decay.
Do: Avoid chewing ice and other very hard foods. Double-check to make sure that pitted foods have no pits before you bite down on them.
See your dentist regularly. He/she can spot cracked or broken fillings that may weaken teeth. Your dentist will also check for signs of bruxism. Ironically, individuals who grind or clench their. You are showing signs of bruxism? A dentist may recommend a mouth guard that can be worn at night to prevent grinding.
Any other business? No, just don’t forget to smile enough it shows you are engaged with life and enjoying yourself. Now smile and say cheese!

pleated skirts
Pleats versatility is such that they can be worn with just about anything. Besides the fact that they come in chiffon and silk, they can be incorporated into any style. Want the best of pleated clothes.
1. Let it be high-wasted. What top are you wearing with the pleated skirt? Tuck it in. There are a variety of tops to consider T-shirt, tank tops, lace tops (for an edgy 70’s look) and normal feminine blouses.
2. To ooze an extra glamorous effect, do have at the back of your mind that accessories are key. It is so easy to go over the board with accessories so caution should be exercised. A tiny but noticeable belt can be used to cinch the waist, giving it definition. If you are wearing a plain cropper or tank top or blouse, make do with a chunky or attention-drawing neck piece to bring out the beauty of your ensemble. But wear the tiniest and most understated of earrings.
3. choose fun colours like dark orange, pink, turquoise or go the way of the two or more tone colour blocking trend. But be sure the colour that balances the colour of the skirt, if it is a pleated skirt, that way, you avoid looking like a clown!
4. With a pleated blouse, you can march it with a fitted Pir of pants to balance out the billowy look.

you are blushing
You have used the foundation, applied the eye shadow, mascara, and then, the lipstick/lip gloss.
But you are forgetting something here. Guess what it is?
The brush!
It often the last cosmetic to be used on the face and it simulates a natural glow. Blush may come as a cream, gel, or powder blush comes in larger variety of shades. On bare skin or over foundation you may use any texture but if you use facial powder, then applying powder blush on top is your only choice.
Choose your blush
Make do with a shade from the cool palette to add a healthy glow to your face. Any kind of pink is a good choice for lighter complexions. While cool berries and plum shades will work for deeper skin tones.
Choose a shade ranging from delicate apricot, for a fair complexion, to burnt orange, for a deep skin tone. Warm-coloured blush with orange undertones is best for contouring the cheeks.
Shades between the cool and warm palettes suit any complexion. Peachy for light skin, rosewood for medium skin, or red for dark or black skin.
You may use two blushers; a dark warm or natural shade for contouring, and a light pink or neutral shade to add a healthy glow. It will add luminosity to your face, and is especially good with night make-up.
Applying blush
• Blush should be applied should be applied to the fullest part of your check. Use a blush to sweep the colour back toward the temple. Once your blush is in place, take a cotton ball and blend until you have just a hint of natural looking blush colour.
• To find out the actual position of the apple of your cheek, look into the mirror and smile and then sweep the brush upward in an arc from your cheekbone to your hairline.
• Accentuate the cheekbones by using a slightly darker shade there while blending it down the cheek for more natural look.
• Make the face look wider, by looking straight into the mirror and applying the blusher on the cheekbone from under the centre of the eye to the temple.
• A full round brush gives a profession look and makes the overall look softer and more desirable.

What causes sagging of breasts?
Sagging or drooping of breasts is a natural, inevitable process that happens to all women at some point - except those with fairly small breasts. The most notable sagging happens with the process called breast involution , but breasts can start drooping a little at any age, because they do NOT have muscles in them. They have ligaments and connective tissue. When the gravity pulls the breasts down, those ligaments and the skin can stretch, and so the breast then drops. This depends on the elasticity of your skin and of your ligaments, as determined by your genes and diet, and also on normal aging processes. Obviously large breasts will sag easier since the gravity is pulling them down more.
Breast involution is a process where the milk-making system inside the breast shrinks because it's not needed anymore. This happens either after weaning or right after pregnancy if you don't breastfeed at all, or during menopause.
Another common cause for sagging is when a woman loses weight. When you lose weight, some of that fat disappears from your breasts.
There is one more notable study concerning sagging and bra wearing, which found that jogging caused breasts to bounce enough to stretch the Cooper's ligaments inside the breast. Naturally, stretched ligaments would cause the breast to sag more.
The lesson to take home from this study is that if you engage in jogging or some other type of very active sport, sports bras are recommendable.

10 facts about lack of sleep.
Lack of sleep can make you grumpy and foggy. You may not know what it can do to your sex life, memory, health, looks, and even ability to lose weight. Here are 10 surprising -- and serious -- effects of sleep loss.
1. Sleepiness Causes Accidents
Sleep loss is a big public safety hazard every day on the road. Drowsiness can slow reaction time as much as driving drunk. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration estimates that fatigue is a cause in 100,000 auto crashes and 1,500 crash-related deaths a year in the U.S. The problem is greatest among people under 25 years old.
Studies show that sleep loss and poor-quality sleep also lead to accidents and injuries on the job.
2. Lack of Sleep Kills Sex Drive
Sleep specialists say that sleep-deprived men and women report lower libidos and less interest in sex. Depleted energy, sleepiness, and increased tension may be largely to blame.
3. Sleepiness Makes You Forgetful
Trying to keep your memory sharp? Try getting plenty of sleep.
4. Sleep Loss Dumbs You Down
Sleep plays a critical role in thinking and learning. Lack of sleep hurts these cognitive processes in many ways. First, it impairs attention, alertness, concentration, reasoning, and problem solving. This makes it more difficult to learn efficiently.
Second, during the night, various sleep cycles play a role in “consolidating” memories in the mind. If you don’t get enough sleep, you won’t be able to remember what you learned and experienced during the day.
5. Sleep Deprivation Can Lead to Serious Health Problems
Sleep disorders and chronic sleep loss can put you at risk for:
Heart disease
Heart attack
Heart failure
Irregular heartbeat
High blood pressure
Stroke
Diabetes
According to some estimates, 90% of people with insomnia -- a sleep disorder characterized by trouble falling and staying asleep -- also have another health condition.
6. Sleepiness Is Depressing
People who slept less than five hours a night for seven nights felt stressed, angry, sad, and mentally exhausted. Over time, lack of sleep and sleep disorders can contribute to the symptoms of depression.
Insomnia and depression feed on each other. Sleep loss often aggravates the symptoms of depression, and depression can make it more difficult to fall asleep. On the positive side, treating sleep problems can help depression and its symptoms, and vice versa.
7. Sleep Loss Impairs Judgment, Especially About Sleep
Lack of sleep can affect our interpretation of events. This hurts our ability to make sound judgments because we may not assess situations accurately and act on them wisely.
Sleep-deprived people seem to be especially prone to poor judgment when it comes to assessing what lack of sleep is doing to them. In our increasingly fast-paced world, functioning on less sleep has become a kind of badge of honor. But sleep specialists say if you think you’re doing fine on less sleep, you’re probably wrong. And if you work in a profession where it’s important to be able to judge your level of functioning, this can be a big problem.
8. Lack of Sleep Ages Your Skin
Most people have experienced sallow skin and puffy eyes after a few nights of missed sleep. But it turns out that chronic sleep loss can lead to lackluster skin, fine lines, and dark circles under the eyes.
When you don’t get enough sleep, your body releases more of the stress hormone cortisol. In excess amounts, cortisol can break down skin collagen, the protein that keeps skin smooth and elastic.
Sleep loss also causes the body to release too little human growth hormone. When we’re young, human growth hormone promotes growth. As we age, it helps increase muscle mass, thicken skin, and strengthen bones.
9. Lack of Sleep May Increase Risk of Death
In the “Whitehall II Study,” British researchers looked at how sleep patterns affected the mortality of more than 10,000 British civil servants over two decades. The results, published in 2007, showed that those who had cut their sleep from seven to five hours or fewer a night nearly doubled their risk of death from all causes. In particular, lack of sleep doubled the risk of death from cardiovascular disease.
10. Losing Sleep Can Make You Gain Weight
When it comes to body weight, it may be that if you snooze, you lose. Lack of sleep seems to be related to an increase in hunger and appetite, and possibly to obesity. According to a 2004 study, people who sleep less than six hours a day were almost 30 percent more likely to become obese than those who slept seven to nine hours.
Not only does sleep loss appear to stimulate appetite. It also stimulates cravings for high-fat, high-carbohydrate foods. Ongoing studies are considering whether adequate sleep should be a standard part of weight loss programs.

Ways to be an attractive woman
The power of attraction is a very useful thing. There is a common misconception that physical appearance completely determines attractiveness, but this is simply not true. If you want people to be drawn to you, there are a variety of things you can do as a woman that will have others flocking to you in time.
1. Be healthy. Eyes take kindly to a woman who takes care of herself, and that means finding a happy medium for your weight, eating well, getting enough sleep and exercising. Plus, being healthy makes you more energetic, better for your mental health as well as adding to your confidence--who can resist that?
2. Be distinctly you. Be yourself. If you ever observe people at a party or any social gathering, you'll always see the majority of guys drawn to women with unique (but not intimidating) personalities. It's never a plain Jane, following the herd, to whom they all gravitate, is it? So ask yourself, is there anything you could improve about your personality or who you are to make yourself more interesting and fun to talk to?
3. Take care of your skin. Blemishes (especially on your face) can be very distracting. Wash your face regularly, and apply makeup to accentuate your complexion.
4. Love yourself. You can be pretty but still unattractive if you don't start to love yourself. Nobody will care how shiny and thick your hair is, for example, if you keep complaining about your waist size. Confidence is a powerful attractant, so you need to learn to be confident.
5. Be hygienic. Maintain yourself so that you always smell and look fresh and lovely. Take showers, brush your teeth after every meal, wear clean clothes, etc.
6. Be nice. A rude person turns ugly in the eyes of whoever sees her, but a nice person turns into a prettier person in the eyes of everyone who sees her. Try to be nice to everyone, but be ready to defend yourself against any rude attitudes, since letting people walk all over you is not very attractive, now is it?
7. Have style. Make sure you look your best no matter what. Even if you're wearing sweat pants, dab a little lip gloss on and wear gold hoop earrings or a bracelet. For special occasions, Go for funky strappy high heeled sandals, a flowy blouse and skinny jeans.
8. Smile. Don't walk around all the time with a frown or even a neutral expression on your face. Even a little smile will make you more attractive. What else could be more inviting and approachable? All in all, be readable. You don't have to be predictable, but for goodness sake, do not keep a poker face when it comes to emotions. Guys do not like to feel unsure. As bad as it is asking for directions, asking a woman how she feels can be dangerous! This is why so many guys won't do it if they can't already tell if a girl is into them or not. Don't smile too much though. Most guys these days fall for mysterious women. So smiling when men aren't expecting it can make them stammer.
9. Keep your hair healthy and styled. They say that the hair is the portrait of the face, so it has to look great. Greasy or damaged hair is always unattractive. Always comb and brush your hair very well, every day. Get a haircut or style that fits your facial shape. Cutting yourself bangs can also make you appear attractive.
10. Be willing to participate. Whether it's talking, eating, gaming, dancing , it's only polite to join in. A person who just sits there watching might as well be wearing a flashing neon sign that says "I'm a boring person who doesn't like fun!" However, this does NOT mean you should join in drinking or partying if you're not into those things. To get involved, walk kindly up to them and ask, "Do you mind if I join you?" If they say yes, have fun! If they say no, that usually indicates that they are mean and not very 'open'. Try to avoid people who don't even notice you or are excessively mean to you for no reason. If they say no, try to find some other people to try to be friends with.
11. Be capable of carrying on a conversation. You don't necessarily have to have something in common with a guy for him to take interest in you but if he tries to talk to you but you just stand there, he's going to move on. A good conversation starter is to ask his opinion about something superficial, such as whether QWR picked the right guy or if the nice weather will hold out through the weekend.
NOTE: avoid asking for input about your looks, such as your outfit or your hair. Keep the conversation light. Above all, don't put yourself down, it's a huge turnoff.
12. Don't make yourself seem overly available.
13. Don't listen to the opinion of women when pursuing men. Women have their own perception of beauty and what they think males find attractive. "Wear this," "Do that," "Show your left ankle; men love it, and they will respect you for it, too!" Yeah, no.
14. Treat yourself. Get a manicure and pedicure, a massage, or a facial. You don't have to do it every week, but don't deprive yourself.
15. Have a confidence in yourself.
16. Have your own principles. Be certain in certain aspects so that your social life won't be a mess.
Warnings tips
• Don't be shallow. When looking for a serious relationship, girls want to find a partner who is interested in them for reasons other than looks. Believe it or not, the same goes for guys. At least for guys who are worth more than ten minutes of your time.
• Do not expose yourself too much. Guys might like what you wear, but they will not respect you if you flaunt your figure.
• Do NOT copy other people. You need to be completely yourself.
• Do not overdo your beliefs and looks, because you will make it too obvious and it will be unattractive.
• Don't change your looks to please other people; only change your looks to please yourself.
• Show acceptance. Every person wants to be accepted fully for who he or she is. Remember the old saying, "Women marry men thinking they'll change and they don't, and men marry women thinking they won't change and they do."

choosing lipstick colours
choose the lip colour careefully and try it out in a cosmetic salon first and let them assist you in your colour choices. For women with large lips, muted colours such as purples, browns and bronzes are the best choices while women with thinner lips should use light colours.
Make your lipstick smudge resistant and matte by blotting the excess colour on lips using one sheet of two-ply tissue, reapplying the lipstick and blotting it again to absorb the excess oils. Mature women should not use matte lipsticks though, for a little gloss can make their lips appear softer and lip liner will keep the lipstick from melting. In case, the lip colour or brush slips from your hands accidentally and stains your clothes, apply the glycerine on the area and rub it gently, before washing it as usual. For an instant makeover, try a pink creamy blush to add rosyness to your cheeks and lids and use plump shade on your lips and you are ready to flaunt your beauty.
www.beautyship.blogspot.com
applying mascara
Mascara gives a finishing touch to your eye makeup and must cover the lashes from roots to the tips. Deposit the color on the mascara wand by twirling it in the pack and then cover the upper lashes from their base to the tips in full strokes to make the lashes look thicker, longer, well defined and separated. Mascara is applied from the underside by holding the wand horizontally parallel to the eyelid and the brush is rolled slowly in the upward stroke. For lower lashes, one has to be more careful so as not to smudge the under eye area and the wand is to be held vertically and mascara is applied from side to side. Less mascara is used on the lower lashes and extra color should be blotted off using the tissue paper. Usually women opt for more than one coat of the mascara, which combs the lashes too so that they do not look stuck together.
If mascara is deposited on the wand more than needed, tissue the extra color off before applying it. Different colors of mascara such as brown, navy and green can make you look funky instantly. It is important that mascara is used on an individual only to avoid transferring eye infections and if it causes even the slightest irritation in the eye, it must be immediately discarded. Wiggle the brush a little at the roots of the lashes as it allows the bristles to move between the eyelashes, combing them and separating them. Let mascara dry between any of the two coats and comb the eyelashes to separate the wet lashes. Do not rub eyes to remove the mascara but use the eye makeup solvent instead. Before applying mascara, use an eyelash comb or damp toothbrush to comb your lashes. Always use a clean and fresh mascara wand on damp lashes.
Black mascara can be used by anybody at anytime. Thin and short brush is best as it is easier to control and gets to the corner of the eye easily. It is also advisable to powder the under-eye area before applying mascara to avoid smudging. Curl the lashes before applying mascara by moving the wand in a zigzag fashion to make the lashes look wider and brighter. Applying mascara only on the upper lashes lend them a dramatic touch, while applying it lightly on the upper and lower lashes, make the eyes seem wider. A gel-based mascara enhances the lashes while thickening mascara looks more dramatic and adds volume to your lashes. Brown, navy and aubergine shades add subtle and sophisticated touch to your eyes.

how to care for the hands
It is said that even if you have no words to express it, your hands can tell innumerable stories about your life! Taking care of your hands is as good as taking care of your skin and body. They can tell the age of person, their background and a lot more that sees the eye. There is no point in having gorgeous nails, dressing up in fancy clothes or pampering yourself if your hands are neglected. More often than not, the hands play an important role in communication such as expression of self and emphasis of a point. They can be described as the most-used part of your body. Thus, it is your responsibility to take good care of your hands and treat them well. Spending a few minutes on a quick manicure will leave you with enviable hands! For a better insight into achieving soft and beautiful hands (nails included), read this article and start grooming yourself the right way!
Hand Care Tips
1. Use gloves while washing dishes and clothing and also heavy duty chores such as gardening.
2. While washing your hands, use mild pH soaps and make it a point to immediately apply lotion on them. Do not let the skin on hands dehydrate as this leads to the formation of wrinkles.
3. Get manicures from reputable spas or nail salons that practice good sanitation. Make sure that all the equipment has been pre-sterilized to avoid chances of infection.
4. One of the best ways to avoid fungal infections is to keep the hands warm and patting it dry after washing. Coldness of hands often affects the body's immune system by leading to illnesses such as influenza and sore throats.
5. Special treatments such as a warm oil bath and herbal therapies can keep your hands soft and supple forever. Even simply soaking your palms in hot water mixed with glycerin, lemon juice and rose water can be of great help in acquiring supple skin.
6. The position of your computer monitor, keyboard, and mouse can have a profound effect on your hands. Repetitive motions such as typing and mouse-clicking can result in tired, sore hands or even inflammation such as Carpal-Tunnel syndrome. To correct this, make sure that your mouse is easily reachable and that your keyboard is positioned at a comfortable level.
7. Deficiencies in Vitamin B can cause ridged nail beds. Lack of calcium can result in brittle and dry nails that chip off easily. For this purpose, be sure to eat foods high in these vitamins or take supplements to improve the look of your nails.
How To Keep Hands Beautiful & Soft
• Cucumber juice and glycerin can be mixed and applied on the hands once a day. This gives a moisturizing as well as a fresh look.
• Another great tip to keep your hands looking beautiful is a combination of milk cream, ground almond, glycerin and lemon juice. This bleaches your hands as well as removes the dead cells.
• Honey and orange juice contains AHA that proves to be an excellent way to keep your hands protected from the harsh rays of the sun and remove the tan.
• Application of egg white also makes a good hand mask. It makes the skin tight and prevents formation of wrinkles.
Beautiful hands are the result of dedicated hand care and maintenance. Follow the above mentioned tips and keep your skin looking soft, supple, young and beautiful forever!

8 tips for taking care of the face
Many people take their skin for granted. The skin has several basic needs. First, it needs to be kept as clean as possible. Second, the skin needs to be protected from sunlight and other environmental insults. The skin of the face needs even more attention than the rest of the body because the face has more oil glands, especially the central forehead, nose and chin. One needs to perform a brief morning regimen for the facial skin and a longer regimen before going to bed. Once you have your skin care regimen down, it will only take five to ten minutes a day.
• Wash your face twice a day (no more) with warm water and a mild soap made for people with acne. Gently massage your face with circular motions. Don't scrub. Over washing and scrubbing can cause skin to become irritated.
• Don't burst pimples. It's tempting, but here's why you shouldn't: Popping pimples can push infected material further into the skin, leading to more swelling and redness, and even scarring.
• Avoid touching your face with your fingers or leaning your face on objects that collect sebum and skin residue like your phone. Touching your face can spread the bacteria that cause pores to become inflamed and irritated.
• If you wear glasses or sunglasses, make sure you clean them frequently to keep oil from clogging the pores around your eyes and nose.
• If you get acne on your body, try not to wear tight clothes. They don't allow skin to breathe and may cause irritation. Scarves, headbands, and caps can collect dirt and oil, too.
• Remove your makeup before you go to sleep. Throw away old makeup that smells or looks different from when you first bought it.

Top 10 Beauty Mistakes Made By Women
If you haven't noticed any mistakes lately, take a trip to the mall. I spot the mistakes listed below, regularly.
1) Eye Shadow
Have fun when you choose your colors, but at least give them a little thought before you apply them. Did you use too much, is it too bright, does it suit you at all?
2) Mascara
Wearing way too much mascara is one of the biggest makeup mistakes still being made. Long lashes good... clumps bad.
3) Eye Liner
Eye liner can make or break your efforts. If you are using liquid, you need lots of practice. Until you get it just right, use a pencil.
4) Dashing Out of the House
Look into a mirror before you leave the house. A mirror never lies. It will tell you very quickly if what you have on, looks hideous. And then if need be, go and change. Don't think for a moment that you can sneak into the grocery store and out again without anyone seeing you. It never works. Someone you know will see you. Always happens.
5) Lip Liner Fighting With Lipstick
I have no idea who started the trend of wearing one color of lip liner and another color for the lipstick. That has to be one of the BIGGEST mistakes. Consider what happens if the lipstick disappears, but the liner doesn't. Not a pretty picture.
6) Bad Brows
Unless you have very long bangs, someone will notice if they are over-plucked or have gone untouched for the past 10 years. If you have no idea where to start, consult a professional and then all you have to do is maintenance.
7) Foundation Mistakes
Foundation is supposed to even out your skin tones, not cover everything up. If it looks like a mask, you have put on way too much. Wash it off and start again.
8) The Dreaded White Neck
When you apply foundation, be sure to apply a little to the neck area as well. There is nothing more noticeable than one color for your face and another for your neck.
9) What Are You Wearing?
An outfit MIGHT look good in a music video, but chances are, it won't on the street. If in doubt, as for an opinion. Believe me, someone will tell you if you are over the top.
10) Check It Twice
As much as we would like it to, makeup seldom lasts the entire day. Be sure to check to see if something has disappeared or worse... smeared.

How to Stop Biting Your Fingernails
Nail biting is a common habit and one that's not easy to kick. For some, this habit occurs when nervous or possibly when bored. However, following these steps may help you manage it and possibly quit altogether.
Instructions:
1. Purchase a bitter-tasting formula or homemade bitterleaf water.
2. Wash hands every morning with soap and water and towel dry.
3. Apply a liberal amount of the solution to the nails, cuticles and surrounding skin.
4. Continue to reapply the solution throughout the day as it wears off.
5. Reapply the solution at bedtime. Make sure the bitter taste is always present on your nails.

7 Reasons why you should drink water to lose weight
Water is cheap and affordable and you may wonder why ordinary water is important for weight loss. Read on and find out.
1) Initial weight loss is largely due to loss of water, and you need to drink an adequate amount of water in order to avoid dehydration.
2) The process of burning calories requires an adequate supply of water in order to function efficiently; dehydration slows down the fat- burning process.
3) Drink plenty of water. Our body needs a lot of water so give in to it. Burning calories produces toxins (think of the exhaust coming out of your car), and water plays a vital role in flushing them out of your body. But if you have more water in your body you will generally feel healthier and fitter. The best thing about water is that is has no calories at all.
4) Water assists muscles in their ability to contract and lubricates the joints. Proper hydration helps to reduce muscle and joint soreness when exercising.
5) Drink a glass of water before you start the meal. Water naturally needs some space so that you feel fuller without actually having to stuff yourself.
6) Have another glass of water while you are having the meal. Again this is another way of making yourself full so that you can actually rise from the table eating less but feeling full just the same.
7) Start your day with a glass of water. As soon as you wake up, gulp down a glass of cool water. It’s a wonderful way to start you day and you only need a lesser quantity of your breakfast drink after that.
