Does your skin colour determine your personality?

If you’re black, what does it mean to be black? If you’re white, what does it mean to be white? And if you’re anywhere in between, how does your skin colour affect how you define yourself, and others define you?
What’s behaving ‘white’? What’s behaving ‘black’?
A lot of people simply rejected the notion of skin colour differentiating people. There are good and bad people, smart and stupid people, generous and mean people…. And believe me, it’s never been connected to their colour or kind.
But is it that simple?
The fact that four fifth of humanities is non-White makes this subject a relevant and current issue worth pursuing. Notably, it addresses the identity crises majority of the world’s population face. Identity crisis? Is that really happening?
White, yellow, green or black, we are all human beings. The problem resides in our mentality and I think it is hereditary and psychological. We blacks just need a change of mentality.’ But does that mean to stop thinking of yourselves as black?
Is black is a state of mind?
Please tell us your experiences/thoughts.

Foods which become unhealthy to eat late at night

A heavy meal at night can put a strain on your digestive system and disrupt your sleep. Plus, it may contribute to weight gain because you aren’t likely to burn that many calories while you sleep. Good health is not just about eating the right foods. It’s about eating the right foods — in the right proportions at the right time.
Coffee
Caffeine can keep you tossing and turning in your bed for hours due to its temporary stimulating effect. It has also been found to alter the normal stages of sleep and compromise deep sleep. Lack of quality sleep at night can hinder cognitive functions and contribute to daytime tiredness.
If you are thinking about switching to decaffeinated coffee, be aware that most decaf coffees are not completely caffeine-free. Instead of clinging to your coffee, try an herbal tea.
 Beans
Though healthy, beans should also be avoided at night. The jingle “Beans, Beans, The Musical Fruit” best describes the reason. Being high in soluble fiber, beans can cause flatulence and tummy troubles late at night.
In fact, increased abdominal gas is a common side effect of most high-fiber diets. Both soluble as well as insoluble fiber cause gas, but soluble fiber has a higher gas-producing potential because it slows the passage of food through the intestine where the gut bacteria break down carbohydrates and cause fermentation and gas.
Lentils, peas, nuts and seeds are also rich in soluble fiber. Foods that contain insoluble fiber include broccoli, cauliflower, cabbage, Brussels sprouts and other cruciferous vegetables. Garlic, onions, shallots, chicory root and leeks may also contribute to gas and flatulence.
 Alcohol
Alcohol can cause a drowsy effect but it does not produce revitalizing sleep. According to a 2013 review of 27 studies on the effect of drinking on nocturnal sleep, although alcohol reduces the time it takes to fall asleep and even increases deep sleep, it tends to reduce REM (rapid eye movement) sleep that influences your memory and serves restorative functions.
A refreshing, good night’s sleep includes 6 to 7 cycles of REM sleep. With alcohol in your system, it can be reduced to just 1 or 2. Alcohol can also cause snoring as it relaxes all the body’s muscles, including the throat muscles, thus reducing your defenses against airway obstruction.
 Red meat
Eating steak or other red meat products can keep you tossing and turning in bed at night. Due to their high fat and protein content, these foods take time to digest and thus keep the body awake throughout the digestion process. They also make you feel sluggish the next morning.
Instead of relishing that thick, juicy steak, opt for lean meat and vegetables. However, avoid cruciferous vegetables like cauliflower, broccoli and cabbage as they can cause abdominal gas.

Is It Necessary To Wear Underwear?

You will be surprised to know how many people prefer not to wear underwear on the daily basis. Some think it is gross while others believe it is quite normal to go without anything down there to almost any place, including office. People have different opinions, but what do doctors say about it? Let’s discuss pros and cons of not wearing underwear.

Pros Of Not Wearing Underwear

  • Skipping your underwear has a few practical advantages. First of all when you don’t wear anything under your dress, skirt or pants, you eliminate visible panty lines (But you can avoid those by wearing a G-string, for example.), which is especially important if you choose to don a very revealing dress (Remember Anya Rubik’s gown at the 2012 Met Gala?).

  • You get better air circulation when you don’t wear underwear. Underwear tends to trap heat and moisture and hold it against your skin. This can result in jock itch in men and vaginal yeast infections in women. (But if you wear cotton underwear this is unlikely to happen.)

  • We know it sounds ridiculous (but for some it can be a big problem!) but if you don’t wear panties you’ll never run out of clean underwear.

  • Many people consider it sexy to appear in public without underwear. Some even compare it with wearing stockings – no one knows about it but everyone supposes it can be true. (Besides, if your man suddenly gets to know you’re pantyless he’ll start burning with desire!)

Cons Of Not Wearing Underwear

  • Underwear has been invented for purpose. It protects us from infections and irritation as well as parasites. Not wearing it can be hazardous for your health.

When you don’t wear underwear, your jeans, pants, capris, shorts, dresses or skirts rub against your skin and can cause irritation and redness. Seams, studs, and zippers can also cause discomfort and damage delicate skin of your genital area.

When you wear a short dress or a skirt you can end up sitting on surfaces which are not very clean. You can get infected with anything including pubic lice — parasites that are usually transmitted via sex but can also live on towels and other stuff.

  • When you wear clothes, especially pants, without underwear you can wear them just once to feel quite comfortable. If you keep wearing them again and again without washing, the fabric will accumulate not only the discharges from your body like body oil, urine and sweat but also odors which you might not smell but other will do. It’s like wearing the same underwear over and over.

Making a conclusion we can say that it’s all up to you to decide whether you want to wear underwear or not. But there are situations when you just cannot do without it. Good luck!

Why Do Women Wear Bra?

According to the survey, over 90% of North American women wear a bra, many without ever asking why. While some believe they do it for their breasts’ sake, other do it simply because of cultural reasons as going braless (or bra free) is often considered inappropriate or kind of breaking the social rules of dress code.

However, while wearing a bra comes as naturally as wearing outerwear in cold weather, women’s breasts are not really made for bras, scientists say (http://www.007b.com/why_wear_bras.php). And they have some evidence to prove there are actually some health reasons for not wearing bras.

Constant wearing of an ill-fitting bra can cause something more than just discomfort and back and shoulder pains. If you always feel some discomfort and tightness from your bra, or notice little red marks on your skin after taking a bra off, there’s a certain problem and the least you can do to make things right is to buy a well-fitting bra and try to wear a bra as less as possible, especially do not wear a bra to bed.

A study conducted by Sidney Ross Singer and Soma Grismaijer has proved that constant bra wearing leads to breast cancer. According to the scientists, women who wore a bra 24 hours a day had a 113-fold increase in breast cancer incidence compared to women who wore bra less than 12 hours daily. They suggest that bras exert enough pressure to the breast and surrounding areas to inhibit the flow of lymph, which then causes toxins and other waste material to remain in the breasts instead of being flushed out.

Besides, going bra free is not as dangerous as many women think. Some ladies, especially fuller-chested ones, believe that wearing a bra keeps their breasts from sagging. Unfortunately, there’s nothing we can do about gravity.

Furthermore, there is some evidence that bras can even increase sagging. One possible reason for that is that the breast has ligaments, and since other bodily ligaments can atrophy when not in use, the same might happen to the breast ligaments under the constant artificial support from the bra, resulting in increased sagginess.

The same can be said about back and shoulder pains and tightness. It’s the bra to blame (ill-fitting bra, to be exact).

A study asked larger-busted women to wear strapless bras or no bras at all for two weeks to remove the weight of breasts from their shoulders. When the experiment was over, seventy-nine percent of patients decided to remove breast weight from the shoulder permanently as that’s how they could avoid the pain.

In other worlds, women have an alternative to wearing bras – we can go bra-free or choose other ways to support/hide breasts – by wearing camisoles, light sports and demi bras, silicon adhesive cups, etc.

However, if you wear a bra just to make your breasts look larger, then seems like there’s no possible surgery-free alternative available yet.

Fitness For The Aging People

Exercise increases in importance as we get on in years. Find your best fit into a healthy lifestyle with the following tips.

Get your doctor's approval. No matter how logical it may be for you to pick up on an exercise routine, make sure you get the go-ahead from your doctor first. Hidden heart or other problems could present you with issues that could seriously threaten you. Make sure he knows what you are going to embark on and approves of it for you personally.

Find an enjoyable routine. Don't force yourself into a boring or laborious program, as this will only discourage you from long-term participation. Keep yourself interested by selecting exercises and activities you will enjoy doing every day.

Pick your partner. Working out with a friend holds many benefits, among the most important is exchanged motivation. Keeping each other committed will go a long way for the success of both of you. It is also great to exercise with a partner so that you can watch out for each other in terms of injuries or ailments.

Find your best workout time. The time of day you chose to exercise can have a major influence on the outcome of it. Some prefer mornings, others like working out toward the evening. Whatever you select, make sure it is the most suitable to you and then work your schedule around it.
Don't over exert yourself! Enthusiasm is nearly always a good thing, but not if it's going to lead you to hurting yourself. If you feel like you are pushing your muscles or heart rate then slow down or stop. The whole point of this program is to improve your health, not to threaten it. Know your limits and avoid exceeding them.

Follow short and permanent goals. You need immediate goals to work toward, such as maintaining your exercise schedule a certain number of days and eliminating unhealthy foods from your diet right away. Keep yourself motivated with good long- term goals as well, like being able to walk or run a mile in a designated amount of time or working your way up to however many laps in the pool. Goals will fuel your forward momentum.

Wear loose, safe clothing. Your priority when working out should always be safety and comfort. Working up a sweat in fancy apparel really does not make that much sense, no matter who you might be trying to impress. Keep your clothing appropriate to exercise and make sure nothing is hanging or loose to get snagged or possibly trip you up. Save showing off your fabulous self for after the work out session.

Drink plenty of water. More and more important as we age, and definitely more important when we exercise! Keeping your water intake high will really work well with your fitness program and is generally a great health insurance plan. Drink as much of it as you can, especially immediately following your routine.

Stay flexible and loose. Partake of regular stretching, even outside of your fitness regime. It is great to wake up and start easing away aches and pains with quiet and calculated stretches. Keeping yourself warmed up and flexible will reduce the likelihood of injury and have you feeling much stronger on a regular basis.

Reward yourself. Once you have exceeded a few goals and are well into your new and healthy lifestyle, give yourself more than just a pat on the back for it! How about a new outfit, trip to your favorite getaway spot or some other self-indulgent yet still good for you splurge? You need to motivate yourself and emphasize all the good that you are doing. Find new and exciting ways to congratulate yourself on your amazing accomplishments.
